Since graduating from JJ Pearce (which I can hardly even remember now) I went to UT Austin & graduated from there in 1977. I also worked at Brackenridge Hospital as a nurse's aid then a nurse tech while putting myself through college. I worked in Neonatal ICU then moved to Dallas to live with a guy I had met through friends in Austin(yes we lived in sin!). His name was Richard Goelz and we married the next year. He was a truck driver at that time but I knew he had more potential...so I quit my great job in Dallas at Childrens Medical Center ICU (where I saw syndromes I haven't seen since) and we moved to Douglass TX so he could go to Stephen F Austin in Nacogdoches. We had to go there so he could try to walk on to the football team. He was too slow for those young whippersnappers though since by then he was 24 aged years. Then he decided he wanted to be a veterinarian and wham! we wound up in Bryan/College Station at TAMU. To make a long story short he graduated in 1988 and wound up a mechanical engineer . By then we had 2 sons, born in 1983 & 1986. At that time I was an RN at St Josephs Hospital in either ER or worked as house supervisor on the weekends making time and a half for two 12 hour shifts. That worked out well with 2 small children & Richard got them on weekends unless Irene (the babysitter who felt sorry for him) took them. Then in 1988 he graduated and got a job with DuPont & we moved to Victoria TX. He decided partly on that job because of the possibility of moving out of Texas but they stopped doing that about that time. When we moved there I took a job in OR but because it required call and Richard was out of town a lot, I changed to an offer I got to work in a freestanding surgery center where we only operated on eyes, South Texas Eye Surgery Center. I wound up there 13 years! I worked part time and was home for the boys most of the time. Then in 2003 DuPont offered Richard a package since they were selling that plant, he took it and we wound up in Houston where he has worked for about 4 different engineering companies. I went to work for Northeast Hospital in 2004 in the ER and just last month changed to the OR. It was bought out by Memorial Hermann Hospital system in about 2006 and is now Memorial Hermann Northeast. Zach my oldest son never moved to Houston with us, since he had already graduated from high school in Victoria. He moved into an apartment and went to Victoria College. Timmy was a sophmore and came with us. He graduated from Humble High School and went to Kingwood College for 1 or 2 semesters and then went to UT in Austin. He graduated last May 2010 with a degree in Sociology. Zach has been working IT for a medical group and enjoying life in Austin with his girlfriend and his dogs.
I lost both my dad in 2006 and my mom in 2008.
I retired December 1,2018 and in August we moved to Canyon Lake & are enjoying it here!

I can barely remember those days. I have my memories but I can't distinguish between junior high and high school. That may be due to the fact that we were in the junior high building for so long. But either in junior high or early high school, John Riddick was looking at a picture calendar of Marilyn Monroe (who I thought was fat!) and he was obviously in love with her! He even told me she was perfect! & in retrospect she was pretty dang close!
